To mark the completion of ten years of community work Amba Foundation held a series of programs at the India Habitat Center in April 2010 .Eminent personalities from civil society & supporters of the Organization graced these Events.
A month long photo exhibition was held at the IHC reflecting the work of the Organization for the community. A dance drama was put up by the children showcasing their talent. A Souvenir to mark 10 years of the Organization was launched by our honored guests and patrons.
A ‘Handbook’ on Nutrition was also published and launched on the occasion by the Member of Parliament, East Delhi
To mark the ongoing journey of empowerment Amba Foundation launched an in-house Newsletter “Amba Vaani”. Often Social Organizations involved at the grassroots overlook the importance of recording activities and its impact on the Community.
This is mostly due to lack of funds & trained manpower. In our effort to bring out a Quarterly Newsletter the organization was fortunate to have one of its members ,a professional in the field of reporting & journalism volunteer to train and mentor a group of young women from the Community closely associated with Amba . This Group has been trained as the core editorial team for bringing out the newsletter.
For the Newsletter to be an effective medium of communication within and beyond the Community, Hindi was the language of communication. To overcome the paucity of funds only a limited number of copies are printed while for the rest it is circulated as an e –newsletter.
